Vandalia Baseball
The Vandals dropped to 7-10 Friday evening, as they fell to conference foe Hillsboro, 13-5.  Kelly Jones picked up the loss, tossing just 2 1/3 innings and allowing six earned runs, eight total, on six hits and three walks.
Offensively, Richie Well led the way with a pair of doubles and RBI’s, both coming in a five-run fifth inning.

The Vandals had a tough go of things Saturday afternoon, as they dropped both games in a doubleheader with Harrisburg. In game one, Vandalia failed to answer the Harrisburg offensive attack, ultimately losing, 9-3.
The offense came alive in the second game, but it was too little too late, as Harrisburg used a five-run second inning to hold on and win, 9-5.

South Central Baseball

South Central dropped to 8-6 Friday evening, as they fell to Flora in a pitchers' duel, 5-3. While Matheny went the distance for the Cougars, he picked up the loss, allowing just one earned (five all together) on seven hits and two walks.
Cauy Blomberg and Caleb Harpster delivered RBI’s, but a four-run fifth inning by Flora proved to be too much to overcome.

South Central Softball

The Lady Cougars dropped to 6-8 overall and 4-3 in National Trail Conference play Monday evening, as they fell to Odin, 4-1. Despite going the distance, Abby King picked up the loss for South Central.

Brownstown/St. Elmo Baseball
The Bombers fell to 9-11 Friday afternoon, as Mulberry Grove’s Shawn Iberg tossed a complete game to help give the Aces the win, 7-3. For BSE, it was Landon Feezel who toed the rubber, picking up the loss as he allowed seven runs on six hits and five walks.  
Josh Huhn and Dawson Enloe delivered the offense for the Aces, as they collected two and three RBI’s, respectively, while Wade Ireland picked up an RBI for the Bombers.

BSE improved to 10-11 Monday afternoon, as they defeated Odin, 10-7. Cole Horner picked up the win, throwing a complete game, allowing four earned runs (seven total) on eight hits and one walk while striking out four.
