Hannah Blythe, senior tennis player at Vandalia Community High School, had her high school career come to an end Oct. 22, losing in the state finals at Palatine High School.
However, her tennis career is not over. Blythe accepted an athletic scholarship from the University of Illinois in Springfield to become a member of the Prairie Stars next season.
During her career at Vandalia High School Blythe managed to win three South Central Conference titles, along with qualifying for state. Between her junior and senior seasons, Blythe won 34 consecutive regular season singles matches.
Along with her athletic scholarship, she received two academic scholarships, the Presidential Scholarship and Capital Honors Merit Scholarship.
