? Evans Public Library's homeschool group meets from 1-2 p.m. at the library. Those interested in attending should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.
? The Vandalia Park District meets at 4:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Okaw Area Vocational Center.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary meets at the Legion Home in Vandalia. Committees meet at 6:30 p.m., and the regular auxiliary meeting is at 7 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 9

? The Vandalia Community High School homecoming parade will be held at 2:30 p.m., beginning from the high school and following the traditional parade route to downtown. This year's inductees into the VCHS Hall of Fame will be introduced prior to the varsity football game, at 6:10 p.m., and this year's homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the game.
? Evans Public Library's Teen Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. at the library. Teens interested in joining the board should contact Shawna Sprague at 283-2824.
? The Vandalia Moose Lodge will host a chicken and fish fry from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The menu includes chicken, fish and all of the trimmings. The cost is $8, and the meal is open to the public.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 in Vandalia will hold bingo at the Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St. Doors open at 5 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.
? The Tri-County Beekeepers Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the hive on the hill by the water tower in Greenville. At 7 p.m., the group will go to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for a demonstration on making creamed honey. Those attending are asked to take their bee suits and a snack.

Saturday, Oct. 10

? Vandalia's Little Community Garden will hold its annual Harvest Festival from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Mother of Dolors Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St. It will include fresh garden produce, homemade jams and jellies, trees and shrubs, artwork, homemade foods, home decor and photo sessions with Diekemper Photography, with a portion of those proceeds going to the Community Garden. Lunch will be available, with the menu including barbecued pulled pork, hot dogs and apple crisp. Cider, cookies and jalapeno poppers will be available free of charge.
? The All-School Reunion held by the Vandalia Alumni and Friends Foundation will be held at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. A social hour is from 5-6:30 p.m., dinner is from 6:30-8 p.m., and this year's recipients of the foundation's Distinguished Alumni Award will be honored at 8:15 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 12

? Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia, is offering "Clubhouse," a homework assistance program, from 3-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at America's Best Value Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the meal and regular meeting are at 6 p.m.
? The Vandalia Eagles Club is hosting bingo at 7 p.m. Those attending are asked to take a non-perishable food item for Fayette County Outreach and a stuffed animal for the Vandalia Police Department.

Tuesday, October 13

? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Elmo High School.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend the meeting are asked to contact Mary Miller at 292-5366.
? The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse.
? The Evans Public Library Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. at the library.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

? The Vandalia Day Unit of Home and Community Education will host Troy Reed, a certified reflexologist who will give a lecture on reflexology and its benefits, at 1 p.m. the Fayette County Extension Office on North Sixth Street in Vandalia.
? The Vandalia Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club.
