? Evans Public Library's Homeschool Group meets from 1-2 p.m. Those interested in joining the group should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.
? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-7 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Ramsey.
? The Vandalia Community High School volleyball team will host Greenville in the Volley for the Cure game. The event starts at 5 p.m. and includes food, raffles, prizes and an address by cancer survivor Mindy Miller.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 in Vandalia will hold bingo at the Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St.

Saturday, Oct. 3

? Lighthouse Pregnancy Center will hold its Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk 5K Life Run and Walk for Life in Rogier Park in Vandalia. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and a pre-event rally will be held at 8:30 a.m. The 5K run begins at 9, and the walk begins at 9:05 a.m. Prizes are being awarded for: first and second places in each age division; overall fastest runner; top two fundraisers; and captains of teams raising the most money. ? The fifth annual fuNFest to raise funds for neurofibromatosis research, clinical care, advocacy and camp support will be held at Gatch Lake. It includes games, inflatables, auctions, cake walks, cow-patty bingo, food and music

? Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia, is offering "Clubhouse," a homework assistance program, from 3-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7;30 a.m. at city hall.

Tuesday, October 6

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary will meet at noon in the hospital conference room. All members are urged to attend.
? The Grandparents/Relatives Raising Children support group will meet from 1-2 p.m. at Evans Public Library in Vandalia. The group meets monthly and provides support, education and access to additional resources, including financial. For more information, contact Trisha Katt at 1-217-347-7179, ext. 1062.
? Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend the meeting are asked to contact Mary Miller at 292-5366.

? The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse. A luncheon is followed by a business meeting and program.

? The Vandalia Community High School homecoming parade will be held at 2:30 p.m., with the parade route being the same as in past years.

Saturday, Oct. 10

? Vandalia's Little Community Garden, located will hold its annual Harvest Festival from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Mother of Dolors Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St. It will include garden produce, artwork, homemade foods  and home decor. Lunch will be available.
