? Evans Public Library's Homeschool Group meets from 1-2 p.m. Those interested in joining the group should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.
? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-7 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Ramsey.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

? State Rep. John Cavaletto (R-Salem) will hold office hours at the Vandalia Statehouse from 10-11:30 a.m. If the legislature is in session, a representative of Cavaletto's office will be available at the Statehouse.
? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold a Fantastic Friday at 4 p.m. Children up to 10 years of age are invited to listen to stories and make floam. Registration is required; to register, call the library, 283-2824.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 will hold bingo at the Legion Home in Vandalia.
? The Vandalia Ministerial Alliance will hold a ham and beans dinner from 5-7 p.m. on the Vandalia Statehouse lawn. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Saturday, September 19

? A benefit for Janine Mars will be held at the VFW Home on West St. Louis Avenue in Vandalia, beginning at 2 p.m. The benefit includea music, food, bake sale, silent auction, raffles for a hog and a 1022 rifle, 50/50 drawing, games for children and adults, music and horseshoe tournament. Donations for the bake sale or silent auction may be dropped off at the VFW.

Monday, September 21

? Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia, is offering "Clubhouse," a homework assistance program, from 3-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at Days Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the regular club meeting and meal are at 6 p.m.
? The Fayette County Hospital District Board of Directors meets at 7:30 p.m. in the hospital conference room.

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

Wednesday, Sept. 30

? The fifth annual fuNFest to raise funds for neurofibromatosis research, clinical care, advocacy and camp support will be held at Gatch Lake. It includes games, inflatables, auctions, cake walks, cow-patty bingo, food and music.
