VCHS Volleyball
The Lady Vandals fell to Southwestern Piasa in two games last Thursday night, 25-13, 25-21.
The Vandals have struggled with serving errors all season and Thursday night was no different.
"Serving errors and serve receive really killed us tonight," Vandals head coach Amanda Walton said.
Walton remained positive despite the loss.
"I was really proud of how they fought back in the second set," Walton said. "We just have to keep fighting going forward."

St. Elmo/Brownstown Volleyball

The SEB Girls Varsity team defeated Teutopolis in three games last Thursday night, 25-21, 18-25, 25-23. The win pushes their record to 5-5 on the season.
Emily Bone recorded 10 kills, two assists, one block, nine digs and one ace. Madison Carson had two assists and three digs and Brandi Howard had 5 kills and two blocks.
Sarah Maxey had 20 assists, three aces and 12 digs, Gabi Moore had seven kills, seven digs and one block, Tessa Philpot had seven digs and Dana Shelton had one kill, one assist, one ace and eight digs.

VCHS Tennis

The Lady Vandals had their best outing of the season last Thursday afternoon at Hillsboro. Unfortunately it was still not enough to come away with a victory, as they ended up with a 3-6 match loss.
Senior Hannah Blythe continued her stellar singles play defeating Anna Talley 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, Hannah Blythe and Kiersten Dossett beat Maddy Powell and Alli Reeves 8-2, while Cassidy Jones and Connie Hans won their doubles match in a close tiebreaker 8-7 (13-11) over Macey Eddington and Maggie Huber.

Saturday at Hillsboro Doubles Tournament
Hannah Blythe and Kiersten Dossett picked up the sole win over Hillsboro, 8-5, in the rain-shortened Tournament.

Tuesday at Effingham

The ladies traveled to Effingham Tuesday afternoon to take on the Flaming Hearts and suffered a 2-7 loss.  Hannah Blythe had the only singles win, defeating Emma Kuhl 6-3 6-1.  Hannah and doubles partner Kiersten Dossett won a tight match against Emma Kull and Megan Allen, 6-3 7-5.

VCHS Golf

 Vandalia went 0-2 in a triangular match at the Greenville Country Club with a combined score of 193. Breese Central took first with a score of 176, while Greenville came in second with a 179.
Breese Central's Kohrmann medaled with an individual score of 39.
For Vandalia, Alec Schroeder scored a team-best 40, Nathaniel Weaver shot a 48, Bryce Dunn shot a 52 and Scotty Shulman shot a 53.

VCHS Soccer
The Vandals traveled to Litchfield Monday evening, losing 3-5. Boaz Haveman scored two goals, while Nic Wollerman picked up the other score.
Goalkeeper Josiah Yexley finished the game with 12 saves.
The Vandals fell to Hillsboro, 1-9, Tuesday evening.

South Central Volleyball

The Lady Cougars were victorious last Thursday night beating Clay City, 25-12, 25-10.
Deidre Schaal led the way with a team-high nine kills along with four digs and one ace, Emily Chapman recorded six kills, 11 assists and two digs and Kendall Burleyson had one kill, 15 assists, four digs and four aces.
Abbey Garrett had three kills, one assist, one stuff and two digs, Serena Germany had three kills and one stuff, Kacie Crain had 12 digs and Hannah Rubin had five digs and one ace.
On Friday South Central defeated Patoka 25-10, 25-19, to improve its record to 8-1 and 3-0 in National Trail Conference play.
Kendall Burleyson had four aces, 14 assists, four kills and two digs, Abbey Garrett had two aces, three kills, one stuff and one dig, Deidre Schaal had four kills and four digs.
Hannah Rubin had two aces, three kills and three digs, Kacie Crain had eleven digs, Emily Chapman had one ace, five kills, one stuff, 11 assists and two digs, and Serena Germany had one kill, one stuff and one dig.
On Monday South Central defeated Altamont in straight sets, 25-18, 25-10.
Hannah Rubin had a team-high three aces ,along with two kills and two digs, Kendall Burleyson had two aces, two kills and 13 assists, Emily Chapman had seven kills, 12 assists and one stuff.
Kacie Crain had one ace and six digs, Deidre Schaal had five kills and seven digs, Abbey Garrett three kills and one stuff and Serena Germany had two kills and one stuff.
The Lady Cougars are 9-1 and 4-0 in conference play.

SEB picked up an 11-2 win in the regional semifinal game at Altamont Monday evening.
Natalie Oberlink picked up the win, allowing eight runs (one earned) and two hits over seven innings, striking out 12.
Cassidy Moss led an 11 hit attack with three of her own. Oberlink, Vayda Smith and Josie Strauch each had two hits, while Katelyn Maxey and Emma Gathe each had one.
