? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

Friday, August 7

? A rummage sale will be held at Mother of Dolors Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St., Vandalia, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Everything will be half-price on Saturday. Items will include infants, children and adult clothing, kitchen items, furniture and books.
? Summer Lunches for Kids will provide free lunches from 11-11:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park on Gallatin Street and Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, at the township building in Shobonier and at the township garage parking lot in Vera.
? Evans Public Library's Teen Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. Teens interested in joining the TAB should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824. ? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 is holding bingo at the Post Home.

Saturday, August 8

? The Fillmore Sportsman Club will hold a fundraiser at Fillmore Lake, beginning at 5 p.m. It will include a hog roast and fish fry, gun raffle, 50/50 drawing and music by "Van Waylon" from 8-11 p.m. Admission is $10, and children ages 12 and under can eat free of charge.

Monday, August 10

? Summer Lunches for Kids will provide free lunches from 11-11:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park on Gallatin Street and Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, at the township building in Shobonier and at the township garage parking lot in Vera.
? The Friends of the Vandalia Statehouse has merged with the Vandalia Historical Society, and a meeting will be held to elect officers and board members of the organization. The organization will be raising funds to rehabilitate windows at the Statehouse, and also maintain the Statehouse and Little Brick House.
? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at America's Best Value Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the meal and regular club meeting are at 6 p.m.
? Bingo will be held at 7 p.m. at the Vandalia Eagles Club, 112 N. Sixth St. Those attending are asked to take non-perishable food items for Fayette County Outreach. They are also accepting new stuff animals for the Vandalia Police Department

Tuesday, August 11

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Back(Pack) 2 School Family Fun Night will be held from 4-8 p.m. at Wesley Hall (rear entrance) at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. All students must accompany a parent or other adult to receive a backpack.
? The Evans Public Library District will hold its budget and appropriations hearing at 6:30 p.m. at the library. The monthly meeting of the library district board will be held at 7:30 p.m.
? The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse.

Wednesday, August 12

? ? The 15th annual IFOR (Illinois Federation of Outdoor Resources) membership drive and cookout, which is open to the public, will be held at Gatch Lake/St. Peter Sportsman's Club. It will include a variety of free food from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; children's crafts and activities, candy canon and kiddie pool; multi-gun raffle, silent auction, 50/50 drawing and a grand prize of a 64-gun safe with mystery gun. A traph shoot is from 8:30-11 a.m., and a horseshoe tournament starts at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m.
