? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

Friday, July 31

? Summer Lunches for Kids will provide free lunches from 11-11:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park on Gallatin Street and Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, at the township building in Shobonier and at the township garage parking lot in Vera.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 is holding bingo at the Post Home.

Saturday, August 1

? A volleyball tournament to raise funds for Cecelia (Miller) Adams of Herrick, formerly of Ramsey, will be held at Ramsey High School, beginning at 9 a.m. Adams has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. She is currently in remission, but has approximately four months of treatments in Effingham and St. Louis remaining. The coed tournament is open to ages 15 and over, and the entry fee is $100 per team. The event also includes a 50/50 raffle and gun raffle, and there will be concessions.
? CenterPointe Church in Vandalia will hold a Family Fun Night from 6-8 p.m. at the Vandalia Municipal Pool. It is a free community swim, and free sno cones and cotton candy will be available.

Sunday, August 2

? CenterPointe Church, located in the former Rural King building at 1616 Veterans Ave., will hold a Back to School Outreach, at 10 a.m., beginning after the morning service. Free gently used clothes and school supplies will be available, "Broken Chains Band" will perform, and there will be a bounce house and a free lunch featuring hot dogs, burgers, chips and drinks.

Monday, August 3

? Summer Lunches for Kids will provide free lunches from 11-11:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park on Gallatin Street and Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, at the township building in Shobonier and at the township garage parking lot in Vera.
? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.

Tuesday, August 4

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary meets at noon in the hospital conference room. All members are asked to attend.
? The Grandparents/Relatives Raising Children support group meets from 1-2 p.m. at Evans Public Library in Vandalia. The group meets monthly and provides support, education and access to additional resources, including financial. For more information, contact Trisha Katt at 1-217-347-7179, ext. 1062.
? Heartland Human Services will hold a Caregiver Connection seminar, "Brain Exercises for Caregivers," from 3-4 p.m. in the conference room at Brookstone Estates, 1607 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia. Refreshments will be provided.
? The Fayette County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. at The Little Brick House, 620 W. St. Clair St., Vandalia. A tour of the house museum will follow the meeting. Members are encouraged to attend, and visitors are welcome.

Wednesday, August 5

? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold a story time at 10 a.m. Children of all ages are invited.
? Summer Lunches for Kids will provide free lunches from 11-11:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park on Gallatin Street and Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street, at the township building in Shobonier, at the township garage parking lot in Vera and in Lions Park in Ramsey, and from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Brownstown.
? The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce meets in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse. A noon luncheon is followed by a business meeting and program.

? Evans Public Library's Teen Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. Teens interested in joining the TAB should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.
? A rummage sale will be held at Mother of Dolors Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St., Vandalia, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Everything will be half-price on Saturday. Items will include infants, children and adult clothing, kitchen items, furniture and books.

Saturday, August 8

? The Fillmore Sportsman Club will hold a fundraiser at Fillmore Lake, beginning at 5 p.m. It will include a hog roast and fish fry, gun raffle, 50/50 drawing and music by "Van Waylon" from 8-11 p.m. Admission is $10, and children ages 12 and under can eat free of charge.
