Katie Adermann and Nicholas Adam Hackney, both of Taylorville, were married in a ceremony at 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 11, 2014, in the backyard of their home, with Jeff Benton officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Merle and Georgi Adermann of Vandalia. She is the granddaughter of the late Edwin and Margaret Adermann, and Jean Stombaugh and the late George Stombaugh, all of Vandalia.
The groom is the son of Jeff and Debra Hackney of Taylorville. He is the grandson of the late Fred and Lucille Hackney of Pekin, and Betty Huskisson and the late Lee Huskisson of Reidsville, Ga.
Mattie Brown, niece of the bride, and Aubri Coffey, niece of the groom, were bridesmaids.
Darin Brown, nephew of the bride, was a groomsman.
Lola Hackney, daughter of the couple, was flower girl, and Jaxon Adermann, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.
A dinner and cake reception was held after the ceremony at the Manner Park Dining Hall in Taylorville.
The couple took a weekend honeymoon in St. Charles, Mo.
The bride is a registered nurse for the Illinois Department of Corrections, working at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro.
The groom is a full-time firefighter for the city of Taylorville and also is a fire instructor at the Fire Service Institute in Champaign.
