? The Vandalia Park District Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. in the conference room of the Okaw Area Vocational Center, located on the Vandalia Community High School campus.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.

Friday, April 10

? The Tri-County Beekeepers Associaton will hold its advanced beekeeping class from 6:30-9 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1540 E. State Route 140, Greenville. The guest speaker will be Larry Ross of Springfield, state inspector for Montgomery County, who will talk on varroa mites, foulbrood disease, small hive beetles, shook swarms and raising queens. Those attending are asked to take a snack to share.

Saturday, April 11

? Shriners Hospitals for Children will hold a screening clinic sponsored by the Old National Trail Shrine Club from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia. Walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call 267-6989 or 283-1231.
? Vandalia Performing Arts Center will hold Family Fun Day from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Family YMCA of Fayette County on Rock Island Avenue. It will include multiple bounce houses, with individual ticket prices or bounce packages; games and coloring station; Beauty Booth, with hair, makeup and nail options for young girls; and vendors and crafts. Lunch and baked goods will be available.

Sunday, April 12

? A cookout to benefit the St. Elmo High School post-prom will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Elmo Food Market. The menu will include ribeye sandwiches, Nuxoll porkburgers and double porkburgers, Nuxoll hot dogs, chips, water and Dippin' Dots.

Monday, April 13

? An American Red Cross blood drive, sponsored by the St. Elmo Junior High-High School National Honor Society, will be held from 9 a.m,-2 p.m. in the high school gym. Donors will help the school win a scholarship.
? The "We Choose Health" Community Walk will continue to be held at Brownstown Elementary on Mondays when school is in session. Anyone who walks at least 20 minutes between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. may register to win monthly prizes of Subway Sandwiches.  In May, a drawing will be held for two adult bicycles. The Brownstown Elementary Gym will be used during inclement weather.  Donations to walk are not required, but any donations in March and April are designated for the Brownstown Golden Years Club.
? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at America's Best Value Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the meal and regular club meeting are at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, April 14

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Evans Public Library District Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. at the library.
? Rainbow Reflections, a grief support group, meets from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Mary Miller at 292-5366.
? The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse.

Wednesday, April 15

? The Vandalia Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

Thursday, April 16

? The Vandalia Park District will hold a public hearing on the issue of allowing alcohol in the parks for softball tournaments and special events. It will be held at 6 p.m. in the Little Theater at Vandalia Elementary School.
? The annual convention of the Association of Lincoln Presenters will get under way at the Vandalia Country and Golf Club with a banquet and Civil War songs sung by FourGiven Quartert. Public events will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
