Hall of Famer

Nancy Meyer of Mapleton, a native of Vandalia, was one of five softball coaches inducted into the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Sunday, Feb. 22.

The induction ceremony was held at the Chateau Hotel in Bloomington and included recognition of Coach of the Year, and inductees to the Umpire Hall of Fame and Journalist Hall of Fame. Meyer, who has coached at Illini Bluffs High School in Glasford for 20 years, has amassed a record of 417-126. She is a 1968 graduate of Vandalia Community High School and the daugher of former Vandalia residents Charles and Glenda Lawler, now of Morton.
