? The St. Elmo Women's Civic Club meeting for this Thursday has been canceled. The next meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on April 9 and will include a salad supper and membership drive.

Friday, March 6

? The Tri-County Beekeepers will meet from 6:30-9 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1540 E. State Route 140, Greenville. This will be an intermediate beekeeping class covering such topics as overwintered colonies, ways of obtaining bees, swarm prevention, supering for hunting, harvesting and extracting honey and preparing for winter. Door prizes will be given. Free-will donations are accepted for class payment. The book "First Lessons in Beekeeping" will be sold for $10.

Saturday, March 7

? The St. Elmo Lions Club will hold its annual pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Phillips Building on U.S. Route 40. The cost is $5 per person, and a 50/50 drawing will be held.

Sunday, March 8

? The Shoal Creek Chapter of ABATE will meet at 1 p.m. at Bernadini's in Nokomis.

Monday, March 9

? The "We Choose Health" Community Walk will continue to be held at Brownstown Elementary on Mondays when school is in session. Anyone who walks at least 20 minutes between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. may register to win monthly prizes of Subway Sandwiches.  In May, a drawing will be held for two adult bicycles. The Brownstown Elementary Gym will be used during inclement weather.  Donations to walk are not required, but any donations in March and April are designated for the Brownstown Golden Years Club.
? The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at America's Best Value Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the dinner and regular meeting are at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, March 10

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Evans Public Library District Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the library.
? The Fayette County Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse.
? Rainbow Reflections, a grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Mary Miller, 292-5366.

Wednesday, March 11

? The Vandalia Day Unit of Home and Community Education meets at 11 a.m. at the Fayette County Extension Office, 107 S. Sixth St., Vandalia.
? The Vandalia Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club.

Thursday, March 12

? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-7 p.m. at Brownstown High School.
? The Vandalia Park District Board of Trustees meets at 4 p.m. in the conference room at the Okaw Area Vocational Center, located west of Vandalia Community High School.
