? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold Fantastic Friday at 4 p.m. Children ages 10 an under are invited to listen to monster stories and make a monster craft. Registration is required; to register, call the library, 283-2824.
? The Okaw Valley Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its annual Hunting Heritage Super Fund Banquet at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $45 per person or $55 per couple, and it includes a one-year subscription to "Turkey Country," the NWTF's full-color publication.

Saturday, Feb. 28

? The Fillmore Sportsman Club will hold a membership drive and fundraiser at Fillmore Lake, about 1.2 miles east of the four-way stop in Fillmore. The event begins at 10 a.m. and includes raffles, splatter cards, free food and a fun trap, with clay birds furnished at no charge.
? The Fayette County Republican Central Committee will hold its annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the American Legion Home in Vandalia. A social hour is at 5:30 p.m. and a catered dinner starts at 6 p.m. United State Rep. John Shimkus, state Sen. Kyle McCarter, state Rep. John Cavaletto and local elected officials will speak. Tickets are $20 per person and are available from Republican office-holders and precinct committeemen.

Monday, March 2

? The Vandalia Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
Tuesday, March 3

? Heartland Human Services will hold a Caregiver Connection seminar, "Considerations for Caregivers," from 3-4 p.m. in the conference room at Brookstone Estates, 1607 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia. Refreshments will be provided.
? The Grandparents/Relatives Raising Children support group will meet from 1-2 p.m. at Evans Public Library in Vandalia.
? Rainbow Reflections, a grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Mary Miller, 292-5366.

? Evans Public Library will hold a Dr. Seuss story time at 10 a.m. Children of all ages are invited.
? The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse. A luncheon is followed by a business meeting and program.
