Three arrested on Class X meth charges

Three area residents have been charged with Class X felonies after being arrested this week for allegedly being involved in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Charged with the manufacture of 400-900 grams of methamphetamine are Tommy Lee R. Stockton, 29, of Altamont; Justin K. Leonberger, 35, 319 S. Remann St., Vandalia; and Shana C. Reed, 19, 2087 W. Fifth St., St. Elmo.
Reed has also been charged with possession of less than 15 grams of a methamphetamine precursor (a substance from which another is formed).
The methamphetamine manufacture charge is a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. In cases where a convicted individual is eligible for an extended term, the maximum is 60 years.
The three individuals were processed at the Fayette County Jail on Monday, and the bond for each has been set at $50,000.
