Vandalia Christian Academy students presented their Christmas program on Friday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Vandalia.
Thirty-one children from kindergarten through eighth grade participated in the program with the theme: “Christmas Memories.” Junior high students and their teacher, Terri Sutton, designed a questionnaire for all the teachers and students at VCA regarding their favorite Christmas memories, and placed the results on PowerPoint for the program. Dawn Krone operated the soundboard and guided her students in quoting scripture. Dana Myers played the piano for the prelude and program music. Christine Jones directed the music. Tina Cook directed her class in quoting scripture and a poem. The children sang many Christmas songs about the birth of Jesus, God’s perfect gift. “Mary Did You Know” was read, a guitar/vocal solo of “Away in the Manger” was played and sung, and one group of students played “Silent Night” with handbells. The students quoted Bible verses and a Christmas poem. The children ended their program with an exuberant “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
