Dedication held for Fayette County Museum’s organ

A dedication ceremony was held on Sunday for the organ that was recently moved to the upper floor of the Fayette County Museum.

The congregation of St. Francesville Catholic Church decided to donate the organ after the decision was made to tear down the church this summer. First photo, Mary Truitt of the Historical Vandalia Inc. Board serves as emcee for the dedication ceremony. Second photo, Historical Vandalia President Steve Durbin accepts the donation of the organ. Third photo, the crowd of about 60 people listen to Rick Renko of Alhambra talk about cleaning the organ pipes. Fourth photo, the Rev. Kurt Simon, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia, talks before delivering the dedication prayer. The Fayette County Museum is located in the former home of Vandalia's Presbyterian Church.
