The Next Level: Graduate athlete roundup (Aug. 7)

Many athletes who spent their high school years in Fayette County have moved on to play for college or professional teams. Below are the athletes who recently made headlines.

Spencer Patton • Pitcher • Omaha Storm Chasers

•Aug. 3 – Patton, a South Central graduate, allowed his first run for the Round Rock Express, taking the loss in a 7-6 loss to Memphis. Patton pitched an inning of relief for the Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk, while striking out two.
•Aug. 1 – Patton picked up his first win for Round Rock after pitching an inning of relief and striking out two in a 6-5 win against Oklahoma City.
•July 29 – Patton pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief, allowing three hits and striking out three, in a 7-3 loss to Oklahoma City.
