FWC Faith Crusade starts this Friday
Family Worship Center in Vandalia will host a five-day Faith Crusade, beginning Friday and concluding next Tuesday.
The speaker for the Faith Crusade will be Jonathan Suber, an evangelist who has ministered on five continents and in more than 50 countries during the past 30 years. He has pastored three churches and served as a missionary in West Africa, India and the West Indies.
Accompanying him will be his wife, Stephanie. A speaker and musician, she has composed more than 100 songs.
He will speak on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m., Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Steve Ladd at Liberty Christian Aug. 16
Steve Ladd will be in concert at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m.
Before becoming a soloist, Ladd sang with the Anchormen and Gold City.
He also has been singing with the Southern Illinois Homecoming Gospel Choir.
Mother of Dolors sale Friday, Saturday
A rummage sale will be held this Friday and Saturday at Mother of Dolors Parish Center in Vandalia.
Located at 705 W. St. Clair St., the sale will feature clothing for infants, children and adults; kitchen items; furniture; books and much more. Everything will be half price on Saturday.
Ramsey church to host 'State of Grace'
"State of Grace" will be in concert at First Baptist Church of Ramsey at 6 p.m. this Sunday.
The public is invited, and a love offering will be taken.
Collingsworth Family in Salem Friday
The Collingsworth Family, one of the most recognized family groups in Southern gospel music in recent years, will appear in concert at First Christian Church in Salem this Friday at 7 p.m.
They are appearing as a part of the gospel music concert series sponsored by the church. The group features vocal as well as instrumental selections. The family formerly performed with the Gaither Homecoming video series.
The church is located at 1200 W. Boone St. in Salem. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

'Souled-Out' retreat Aug. 8-10 in Cowden
A weekend Christian youth retreat called “Souled-Out” will be held on Aug. 8-10 at Cowden Free Methodist Church campgrounds for young people in grades 7-12.
Guest speaker for the weekend will be Lexie Mahaffey. Providing music for the weekend will be Campus Christian House, a band from Eastern Illinois University. There is no cost to attend the retreat.
Registration begins at 4 p.m. Friday, with dinner at 5 p.m. and a worship service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s program includes a morning service project, afternoon recreation activities a worship service at 7 p.m. and an outdoor movie at 8:30 p.m. The retreat concludes with a Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. and a potluck meal at noon.
