Revival July 27-30 at Liberty Christian

A series of revival services is planned at Liberty Christian Church from Sunday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 30, at 7 p.m. nightly. Mark Scott from Ozark Christian College will be preaching, starting on Sunday morning and continuing each evening during the revival.
Music during the revival will be provided by the musical group Banbury Cross of Fouts Christian Church. The group will perform several songs written by band members.
A pie night will be held on Wednesday after the service.
Also planned during the same week is a kids revival for children from 3 years through fifth grade. The summer theme of "Weird" will be continued for the kids revival. The lessons will explore some of the "weird" things that are described in the Bible.
Liberty Christian Church is located 5 1/2 miles north of Brownstown on College Avenue.

VBS next week at Crown Point Church

Crown Point Church will hold Vacation Bible School next Monday through Friday, from 6-8:15 p.m. each day.
The theme is "Gangway to Galilee – Amazing Grace Adventures."
Children ages 3-12 are invited to attend and participate in the Bible lessons, music, crafts, Bible challenge and refreshments.
A family night will be held on Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m., when a picnic-style meal will be served.

Emmanuel to celebrate 125 years

Emmanuel United Methodist Church in rural Brownstown will hold a 125th-anniversary service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27.
Following the worship service, a luncheon will be held at noon and an afternoon service of reminiscing and singing will follow at 1 p.m.

Steve Ladd concert scheduled for Aug. 16

Steve Ladd will be in concert at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m.
Before becoming a soloist, Ladd sang with the Anchormen and Gold City. He also has been singing with the Southern Illinois Homecoming Gospel Choir.
