? The second annual Lincoln Heritage Festival is being held in Vandalia's parks on West Fillmore Street. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and will close with a Civil War skirmish at 6 p.m. and a dance featuring "Salt Creek String Band" at 8 p.m.
? A benefit for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and Nelda Blankenship, a former employee at HicksGas, will be held at 6 p.m. at the Greenville VFW Home. It will include dinner by Wes Pourchot, music, silent auction, live auction, pie auction, 50/50 drawing and a cash bar.
Sunday, July 13
? The second annual Lincoln Heritage Festival continues in Vandalia's city parks on West Fillmore Street. It opens with a church service in the Mark Greer Park pavilion at 9:30 a.m. and concludes with a Civil War skirmish at 2 p.m.
? The Fayette County Fair gets under way at the fairgrounds in Brownstown. The grandstand attraction is a truck and tractor pull at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11; pit passes are $15.
Monday, July 14
? The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the meal and regular meeting are at 6 p.m.
? The Fayette County Fair continues. The grandstand attraction is the Miss Fayette County and Little Miss Fayette County pageant at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11.
? The Vandalia City Council will hold a hearing on the budget for the coming fiscal year at 5:30 p.m., and a special meeting at 6 p.m. to approve the appropriations ordinance for the coming fiscal year.

? A mini-Relay for Life will be held from 7-10 p.m. in the top loop of the Lincoln Loop Walking Path in Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street. It will include a luminaria service and music by Jamie Nattier and Jason Nickolaides. Luminaries are still available; contact Tiffany Hipsher at 780-0710 or stop by WPMB-WKRV Radio. A bounce house for kids will be available, with armbands for the entire night available for $5.
