Theft of flowers from veteran’s grave is frustrating to family

I am the daughter of a deceased veteran. I would like to say “You’re welcome” to the person or persons who felt the need to remove the flower arrangement from my dad’s marker that my mother had gotten for Memorial Day. After all, he was a decorated World War II veteran.
This has happened before – not only to us, but others as well. So sad.
Please let me know the next time you feel the need to steal from a deceased veteran, or anyone else for that matter, and I will make sure that you get what you need to decorate whatever it is that you’re decorating.
One last thing: We haven’t had a chance to thank former Vandalia Fire Chief Ed Taylor Jr. for his 35 years of dedication and service to the city of Vandalia. Thanks!
