Kaskaskia College offering several sports camps

SOCCER

The Kaskaskia College soccer program will hold several camps this summer.

The first camp is a co-ed camp for students in grades K-4.  The camp will be held on June 9-10 from 9-11 a.m.
Another co-ed camp will be held for students in grades 5-8 on June 11-12 from 9-11 a.m.

A girl’s high school camp will be held on June 11-12 from 5-7 p.m.

A high school boys camp will be held on June 16-17 from 5-7 p.m.

The cost to attend each camp is $30, and includes a T-shirt. All camps will be instructed by KC coach Joe Basch and current KC athletes. 

All players should meet at the KC soccer field on the first day, and bring a water bottle and shin guards.

BOYS BASKETBALL

A boys basketball camp will be held at Kaskaskia College the week of June 16-19. 

The camp is for boys entering grades K-8, and will be held from 1-4 p.m. The cost for the camp is $60, and includes a camp T-shirt. 

The camp will be instructed by KC men’s basketball coach Brian Hancock, assistant coach Brian Edelstein and current players. 

The camp will give individual instruction on the fundamentals of the game. 

Campers should meet in the KC gymnasium.

SOFTBALL

The Kaskaskia College softball program will host a skills camp on June 18-19 from 9-11 a.m.  

The camp is for students in grades K-8, and the cost to attend is $30, which includes a camp T-shirt.

The camp will be instructed by KC coach Torey Crowell, along with current players.  

The camp will give individual instruction on the fundamentals of softball, including hitting, fielding and throwing.  

All campers should meet at the softball field, and bring a glove, bat, helmet and water.

VOLLEYBALL

The Kaskaskia College volleyball program will host two camps this summer on June 23-24.  

The first camp is held for students in grades K-4, and will be held from 9-11 a.m., and the second camp is for students in grades 5-8, and will be held from noon-2 p.m.  

Registration fee for each camp is $30, which includes a T-shirt.

The camp will be instructed by coach Kim Rahar, assistant coach Cortney Crocker and current KC players.  

The camps will give individual instruction on setting, passing, serving, and spiking, as well as development of offensive and defensive skills. Teams are welcome.

All campers should meet in the KC gymnasium.

BASEBALL

The Kaskaskia College baseball program will hold two baseball camps in June.  

A hitting camp will be held on June 23-24 from 9-11 a.m., and a pitching camp will be held on June 25-26 from 9-11 a.m.   

Both camps will be held for students in grades K-8. 

Cost for each camp is $30, and includes a T-shirt. 

All camps will be instructed by Kaskaskia College's coach Mitch Koester, assistant coach Marcus Wilson and current KC players. 

All players should meet at the KC baseball field on the first day with a baseball glove, helmet, bat and water.

CHEERLEADING

The Kaskaskia College cheerleaders will be hosting a clinic for area students in grades K-8 on Thursday, June 26, from 9:00 a.m.-noon.

The cost to attend is $30, which includes T-shirt. 

Participants should meet in the KC gymnasium, and the camp will include jumps, sidelines and cheers, builds, and tumbling sessions.
