Relay has Mr., Miss Little pageants

This year's Relay for Life, set for June 7 at Rogier Park in Vandalia, will include Mr. and Miss Little Treasures pageants at 4 p.m.
The pageants feature three age groups – 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 – and will include casual wear, formal wear and talent categories. Subcategories are: most confident, best hair, most photogenic, congeniality and best talent.
In addition to a winner in each pageant, first and second runners-up will be selected.
The entry fee is $15, and children need to be entered by 2 p.m. on Friday, June 6. Registration forms are available at 1525 W. Randolph St., Vandalia.

Park Board meets in Rogier this summer

The Vandalia Park District Board of Trustees, which meets on second Thursday of each month, will hold its June, July and August meetings in the Rogier Park pavilion on West Fillmore Street.
The summer meetings are at 4 p.m. on June 12, July 10 and Aug. 14.
In other months, the park board meets in the conference room at the Okaw Area Vocational Center.

New Beginnings Brunch is May 31

Soroptimist International of Vandalia is now accepting reservations for a brunch it is holding for local widowed and divorced women of all ages.
The New Beginnings Brunch will be held on May 31 from 10 a.m.-noon at St. James Lutheran Church, 727 W. Gallatin St., Vandalia.
The brunch will include speakers, music and door prizes.

Relay for Life golf
scramble is May 31

An 18-hole golf scramble to benefit Fayette County Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, May 31, at Ramsey Lake Golf Course in Ramsey
The scramble is for four-person teams, and the entry fee is $50 per person. Trophies will be awarded for first and second place.
Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.

Relay team to hold meat shoot May 31

The "Hoof-in It" Relay for Life team will hold a meat shoot from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Gatch Lake.
The entry fee for the shoot is $5 per person, and the fundraiser for Relay for Life will include a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, raffles, bake sale and kids' activities, including a bouncy house.
