FCH now able to do bone density scans

Fayette County Hospital recently announced that the bone densitometry machine, purchased by Friends & Families Foundation of Fayette County Hospital & Long Term Care has arrived, and patients can now schedule an appointment for a bone density test.

A bone densitometry system is used to measure patients for osteoporosis. The testing is safe and non-invasive. The new system also offers FRAX, a 10-year absolute fracture risk assessment, which allows FCH to offer the most complete fracture risk assessment available.
“Once again, we are extremely grateful to our Friends & Families Foundation and its board of directors,” said Greg Starnes, hospital CEO. “The Friends and Families Foundation is a major asset to our organization, and we so appreciate all the support we receive so that we can provide excellent care.”
To schedule a bone density scan, call 283-5466 or visit the hospital's website at www.fayettecountyhospital.org.

Jean Ann Durbin, a member of the FCH radiology staff, recently explained the new equipment to members of the Friends & Families Foundation Board during a tour of the facility.
