Many athletes who spent their high school years in Fayette County have moved on to play for college or professional teams. Below are the athletes who recently made headlines.

Jessica Earnest • Senior • Vanderbilt

•Earnest, a Vandalia graduate, will bowl in the final regular-season tournament of her college career this weekend. Vanderbilt University will be hosting 28 teams – including 18 of the top 20 – on Friday-Sunday for the Columbia 300 Music City Classic.

Jennifer Potts • Freshman • Central Missouri

•March 7-8 – Potts, a Mulberry Grove graduate, bowled in singles and doubles at the Mid-America Women's Collegiate Championships at the University of Central Missouri. She placed seventh among her teammates in singles, with a five-game average of 204.2, including a high game of 236. In doubles, she and Shannon Dexter placed fourth, with a 191.67 average in three games. In the all-events standings, Potts had a 198.88 average and 1,591 total pins.
