Thomas M. Robertson, 73, of Lebanon, formerly of Brownstown, died at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at First Christian Church in Brownstown, with Harvey Waddelow and Zach Strange officiating, and also at 3 p.m. at Berlin Christian Church in Berlin.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to service time in Berlin, with burial to follow at Berlin Cemetery in Berlin. Visitation will also be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown. Memorials: Brownstown Christian Church, Brownstown Education Association Scholarship Fund or donor’s choice.
Mr. Robertson was born on May 25, 1939, in Berlin, the son of William B. and Elizabeth Fisher Robertson. He married Anita Waddelow on Aug. 14, 1965.
He was a former superintendent for the Brownstown School District, a position he held for 16 years. He also served as a teacher and board of education member for the Brownstown School District. He was an instructor for Kaskaskia College, and also served as a bailiff in Fayette County Circuit Court.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Dawnita and her husband Ray Elliott of Lebanon, Angie and her husband Kevin Bodden of Florissant, Mo., Andrea and her husband Colin Welsh of Highland, and Elisa and her husband Zach Strange of Carmi; grandchildren, Shawn, Payton, Logan, Ethan, Elijah, Sydney, Aislyn, Keagan, Brennan, Caleb and Elizabeth; brothers, Donald Robertson of Berlin, and Harry Robertson and his wife Fran of Collinsville; sisters, Judy and her husband Tom Fitch of Springfield, Patricia and her husband Gene Wake of Berlin, and Martha and her husband Kenny Stephens of Berlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Bill Robertson; and sisters, Mary Lou Leatherby and Marjorie Robertson.
