Sue A. Hicks, 67, Vandalia

Sue A. Hicks, 67, of Vandalia, died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Carl Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: Shriners Hospital for Children. Mrs. Hicks was born on May 12, 1944, in Mulberry Grove, the daughter of Harry Elmo and Adele Josephine Jett Rogier. She married Elden E. “Gene” Hicks on Feb. 23, 1985, in Ramsey.
She was a retired bookkeeper for the Fayette County Health Department and a member of Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her husband; beloved boxer dog, Sadie; stepson, Gene Hicks II of Temecula, Calif.; stepdaughters, Gena and her husband Gordon Carter, and Crysti Hicks, both of Ramsey, and Lisa Hicks of Decatur; sister, Sally Bone of Champaign; and stepgrandchildren, Adam, Andy, Stevie, Bailee and Marty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Delores Berry.
