Martin Culik, senior project manager, announced that Willow Grove Carbon Solutions will be hosting two meetings for landowners in the Loudon area on Tuesday, April 12, in St. Elmo and Beecher City.
The St. Elmo meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at the First Church of God at on North Walnut Street, while the Beecher City meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Kluthe Center.
Representatives of Willow Grove Carbon Solutions will provide background information and resource materials about the carbon dioxide storage project. In addition, landowners who attend the meetings will be provided information about easements, royalties, and bonus payments available from participation in the carbon dioxide storage project.
Willow Grove Carbon Solutions has been working with landowners in the Loudon area in Fayette County and the far northwestern portion of Effingham County for almost a year, securing easements for the storage project.
The Loudon carbon dioxide storage site currently includes over 12,500 acres of land secured from 136 local landowners. Development of the Loudon site is continuing with additional geological studies of the site being conducted as well as through individual and group meetings with local landowners.
