Free Lions diabetic screening is next Wednesday

A free diabetic retinopathy screening for persons with diabetes, or those at risk for diabetes, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-noon next Wednesday at the office of Dr. Kevin Childers, 2202 W. Randolph St., Vandalia.
The screening is coordinated by the Vandalia Lions Club and the Lions of Illinois Foundation, and is made possible through donations made to the Lions by the public.
The quality of life for people with diabetic retinopathy and other retinal disorders, such as macular degeneration, is dramatically impacted. Since early detection of such disorders is critical, people with diabetes or those 55 or older are encouraged to take advantage of the free screening.
Persons wishing to join the Lions in their fight against the effects of vision and hearing loss should contact the local Lions Club or the Lions of Illinois Foundation.
For further information call Lion Bill Stolte at 283-3529.
