The Brownstown Junior-Senior High School administration and faculty held an assembly last Tuesday afternoon to recognize students for their academic achievements. Principal Adam Bussard (in photo at right) praised the senior class for being among a very few in the state to meet reading standards in standardized tests. He also recognized all students in grades 7-10 for their academic performance that resulted in the junior high being chosen as an Illinois Spotlight School. Students made the designation possible by their performance in state achievement tests and by meeting or exceeding reading and math standards. Above, Brownstown Superintendent Doug Slover and physical education teacher Sandra Stine congratulate students individually.
