Richard and Doris Courson of St. Peter will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the St. Peter American Legion Home, hosted by their children.
Richard and the former Doris Rothe were married on Feb. 26, 1961, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Martin L. Travis. Their attendants were Mary Lillian Virden and the late Dean Virden.
They are the parents of four children: Greg and his wife Sarah Courson of Farina, Christy and her husband Burl Whitney of Monticello, Karen Ann and her husband Alan Whitt of Altamont, and Stacey Jo and her husband Doug Alberson of Salem.
They have 11 grandchildren and two step-granddaughters: Ryan, Lindsey and Cole Woodruff Courson, Ashley and Alyssa Christine Whitney, Jennifer, Travis and Kaleb Dean Whitt, Tyler, Luke and Cade Richard Alberson, and Jenna and Maggie Nelvin.
