Soroptimists Win Rotary Challenge

Liz Greenwood, center, a donor recruitment representative of the American Red Cross, presents the "Making A Difference" traveling trophy to Tricia Elam, who is representing the Vandalia Soroptimist International. The Soroptimists defeated the Vandalia Rotary Club in a friendly contest to see which club could get the most blood donors to the Jan. 25 blood drive. Of the 167 potential donors, 107 chose to support the Soroptimists, while 60 pledged their support to the Rotary Club. At left is Kevin Childers, president of the Rotary Club, which is the sponsor of the "Making A Difference" Challenge.
