Carolyn Y. King, 66, of Alma, died at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.
Mrs. King was born on April 5, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Royce and Madeline Blake Evans. She married Billy King on Dec. 31, 1975, in Caruthersville, Mo.
She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her mother, of Alma; husband; sons, Donnie Tate, Billy Tate and his wife Hester of Shobonier, Mike King of St. Elmo, and Billy Jo King and his wife Tammy of West Virginia; daughter, Malinda King of Alma; eight brothers; two sisters; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
