Sunday, September 5
? The Labor Day Celebration in St. Elmo continues with a gospel sing at 6 p.m. in the bank lot at Fourth and Main streets.
Monday, September 6
? A horse show will be held at the Okaw Saddle Club, located at Thrill Hill Road and Lakewood Drive northwest of Vandalia. Pleasure classes begin at 9 a.m., and speed classes begin at 1 p.m.
? The Labor Day Celebration in St. Elmo continues. A pancake and sausage breakfast is at the St. Elmo Firehouse from 6-9:30 a.m.; concession stands, flea markets and booths open at 9 a.m.; and the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. More is given in St. Elmo news on Page 5B of today's issue.
? Craig O's, located in Vandalia Commons on Mattes Avenue, will be hosting a fundraiser for Fayette County Relay for Life. Ten percent of all sales will go to Relay for Life.
Tuesday, September 7
? The Vandalia Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? A country music dance will be held at the Patoka Service Center at 7 p.m. Admission is $5, and a potluck will be held.
? The Vandalia City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
