Vandalia Schools Foundation plans Homecoming activities

The Vandalia Community Schools Foundation is making plans for Homecoming weekend at Vandalia Community High School, Sept. 24-26. The weekend activities include the annual alumni banquet and an alumni golf outing.
The Homecoming weekend agenda includes:
Friday, Sept 24
• 7 p.m. – Homecoming football game, with special seating for all alumni and their families. A tailgate will offer hot dogs, chips and drinks.
Saturday, Sept. 25
• 9 a.m. – Alumni Golf Outing.
• 10 a.m. – Tours of Vandalia Community High School.
• All Day – Corn Day being celebrated in downtown Vandalia. The afternoon offers various places to get together with friends for private reunions and visiting.
• Evening – VCHS Alumni Banquet for all classes at American Legion Home. The schedule is: 5-6:30 p.m., cocktail hour with cash bar; 6:30 p.m.-dinner; and 8 p.m.-dance. The cost for the evening is $25, or $10 for the dance only, with tickets available at 8 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 25
• Church and Sunday brunch; groups may make reservations at one of the local restaurants.
Those planning to attend the alumni banquet may send their reservations and payment to: VCSF, P.O. Box 84, Vandalia. They are to include their name, address, e-mail address and the year they graduated from VCHS.
The alumni golf outing will be an 18-hole scramble at the Vandalia Country & Golf Club, with tee times at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The entry fee is $40 person or $160 for a four-person team. Participants may sign up either individually or as a member of a team.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of both the morning and afternoon rounds.
