The names of the two individuals who were murdered in their home early Wednesday morning have been released.
Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen said on Tuesday evening that Debra J. Tish, 53, and John Michael Mahon, 60, died in their Loogootee home after being shot multiple times with a high-powered gun.
Bowen pronounced Tish and Mahon dead at their home at 4:27 a.m. on Wednesday. Autopsies on the victims were performed on Wednesday at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A 15-year-old Farina teen has been taken into custody for the murders. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Thursday morning.
Fayette County State's Attorney Stephen Friedel said on Thursday morning that he expected to file a number of felony charges, including first-degree murder.
The bodies of Tish and Mahon were discovered as the Fayette County Sheriff's Office investigated a report of a break-in at a Loogootee home.
