The Leader-Union publishes obituaries in three diffferent formats – free death notice, personalized paid obituary and custom obituary.
The free death notice includes the name; time, date and place of death; time and place of services, burial and visitation; memorials; funeral home in charge of arrangements; date of birth; and immediate survivors (spouse and children).
Personalized paid obituaries include all of the above information, as well as biographical information, other survivors and those who preceded in death.
Custom obituaries are those which are written by the family in a style that varies from our standard format. All obituary information submitted by individuals must be verified with a funeral home.
We reserve the right to edit all obituaries for spelling and newspaper styles.
To submit information, or receive more information about our obituaries policy, contact Managing Editor Rich Bauer by e-mail at [email protected]
Photographs may be included with obituaries at a charge of $10.
American flags are published with obituaries for veterans of military service free of charge.
