Terry S. Chambers, 61, of Arthur, died at 5:13 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, at his residence.
A gathering of family and friends will be at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Arthur Southern Baptist Church, 530 N. Vine St., Arthur. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chambers was born on April 10, 1948, in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Herschell D. and Sarah L. Chambers. He married Maree Kistler in 1978 in Vandalia.
He as a truck driver for CHI Overhead Doors of Arthur, and was a member of American Legion Post No. 409 in Lovington and the Legion riders. He was a lifelong participant in Boy Scouts of America and served as a Scoutmaster. He served in the Coast Guard for four years. He loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; children, Toby Stevenson and his wife Amy of St. Elmo, Michelle and her husband Brian Mathis of Vandalia, Jessica Monning of Kansas City, Mo., Todd Stevenson of Mt. Olive, Jenna and her husband Lonnie Soehlig of Kearney, Mo., and Jacob Chambers and his wife April of Arthur; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and brothers, Timothy Chambers of Braymer, Mo., and Larry Chambers of San Angelo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Norma Jean.
