City asking Morani to help after his departure
Jimmy Morani attended his final regular meeting of the Vandalia City Council as the city administrator on Monday, but he may be helping the city on some level after his departure in the middle of this month.
After a closed session, the council approved a memorandum of understanding through which the city would pay Morani $35 an hour in those cases in which he would help the city until it hires his replacement. That assistance would be with the city’s pending litigation against HMG Engineers of Carlyle.
As of Tuesday morning, Morani had not signed that document.
Morani is leaving in the middle of April for a similar position in New Baden.
