Robert L. “Bobby” Lowber, 63, of Beckemeyer, died at 12:09 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Services will be held at a later date. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lowber was born on July 2, 1946, in Moweaqua, the son of Edward and Ina Allison Lowber. He married Lelia “Lee” Calhoun on April 10, 1970.
He was a retired coal miner, was of the Methodist faith and loved the game of golf.
He is survived by a sister, Carol and her husband Tim Lockart of Beckemeyer; sister-in-law, Sharon and her husband Bob Garland of Ponchatoula, La.; brother-in-law, Jerry Calhoun and his wife Carla of Vera; nieces and nephews, Lonnie, Julie, Cindy, Jim, Ranna, Heather and Dustin; several great- and great-great-nieces and –nephews; and special friends, Danny Strake and his wife Rosie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Lowber.
