Brownstown board votes to continue co-op negotiations

The Brownstown Board of Education voted unanimously on Wednesday night to continue discussions with the St. Elmo District Board on a cooperative agreement for extracurricular activities.

That vote was taken after the board heard from a number of people in a crowd of about 60 people, many of whom are opposed to the agreement that would join the two districts for activities including high school and junior high basketball and baseball.

The St. Elmo Board of Education is scheduled to discuss the cooperative agreement at its regular meeting on Thursday evening.
