Mildred A. Williams, 93, of Brownstown, died at 5:02 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown, with Wesley Bell officiating. Burial will be in Pilcher Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Pilcher Cemetery or donor’s choice.
Mrs. Williams was born on Jan. 14, 1917, in Vandalia, the daughter of Walter V. and Edna M. Guffey McAdams. She married Ira Porter in 1934; he died in 1940. She married John E. Williams in 1944; he died in 1983.
She was retired from the housekeeping and laundry department at Fayette County Hospital, and was a member of Four Mile Christian Church in rural Brownstown. She loved her family and crocheting.
She is survived by daughters, Geraldine Burton of Mason, Flossie and her husband Jimmie Stanbery of Ramsey, and Virginia and her husband Gary Rigdon of Brownstown; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two brothers; three granddaughters; and a son-in-law, Victor Burton.
