James W. “Jim” Holman, 70, of Vandalia, died at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at McInturff Cemetery in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Dan Rush officiating and military rites accorded by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 officiating. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holman was born on May 26, 1939, in Herrick, the son of Roy and Ethel Beck Holman.
He was a dietary supervisor for the Illinois Department of Corrections, was a member of Vandalia Moose Lodge No. 1447 and served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Nevinger and Mary Tompkins; and brother, Franklin Holman.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons, Eric Holman and his wife Michelle of Vandalia, and Scott Holman and his wife Mary of Vandalia; grandchildren, Madisyn Holman, Alexie Holman, Kaylin Holman and Nolan Holman; sisters, Bessie Hagy, Lila Bone, Patty Koonce, Norma Willis, Carol Metzger and Linda Rickman; and brother, Mike Holman.
