Eloise Dothager, 82, of Mulberry Grove, died at 10:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in her home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove, with Pastor Benjie Potter officiating. Burial was in Mulberry Grove Cemetery in Mulberry Grove. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour before services on Saturday, both at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Bond County Hospice or First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove.
Mrs. Dothager was born on March 2, 1927, in Wheatland Township in Fayette County, the daughter of Wayne and Edna Hamilton Kelly. She married William Leon “Bill” Dothager on March 24, 1951, in Bingham.
She was a former country school teacher, and was a retired teacher’s aide in Greenville and Pocahontas schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove.
She is survived by her husband; son, Gary Dothager and his wife Donna of Mulberry Grove; daughters, Lucetta and her husband Mike Durbin of Vandalia, Brenda and her husband Johnny Thiele of Vandalia, Barbara and her husband Mike Reiss of Ramsey, and Carol and her husband Joey Ferguson of Vandalia; sister, Lola Devall of Vandalia; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Norma Kelly; and a grandson, Lucas Knebel.
