Ruth Aline Knight, 86, of Chatham and formerly of Brownstown, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, with John Willis officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Knight was born on Oct. 5, 1922, in Kaw City, Okla., the daughter of Webster and Ethel Bullard. She married Herman C. Knight on Oct. 5, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo.
Over the years, she and her husband lived in Brownstown, Flora, Centralia and Springfield. She was a homemaker, and a member of Calumet Street Christian Church.
She is survived by a son, Gary Knight and his wife Marcia Knight of Chatham; daughter, Linda and her husband Ronnie Thomas of Newburg, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Sue Knight of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Victor.
