Katharyn J. Sturgeon, 92, Tennessee
Katharyn Jean Sturgeon, 92, of Pleasant Hill, Tenn., and formerly of Altamont, died on Thursday, March 12, 1009.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. Hood Funeral Home and Crematory in Crossville, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 3500 Memorial Drive, Belleville, Ill., 62226.
Mrs. Sturgeon was born on March 19, 1916, in Altamont, the daughter of George and Mary Ann Snyder Trullinger.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Belleville. She spent 38 years as a volunteer for the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Belleville.
She is survived by a son, David Sturgeon of El Cerrito, Calif.; daughters, Sharon and her husband Lyle Weible of Pleasant Hill, Tenn., Janis and her husband Dennis Baker of Tracy, Calif., and Nancy and her husband Michael Willett of Noblesville, Ind.; grandchildren, Tim Weible of Kanehoe, Hawaii, Joel Weible of Louisville, Ky., Peter Weible of Morrison, Colo., Jeff Baker of Fresno, Calif., Jennifer Baker Taylor of Tracy, Calif., and Clifford W. Sturgeon of Collinsville; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clifford W. Sturgeon.
