Gale R. Van Uytven, 32, Oconee

Gale Ronald Van Uytven, 32, of Oconee, died at 10:48 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in rural Pana.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Danny Brown officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.

Mr. Van Uytven was born on April 13, 1976, in Centralia, the son of Michael Joseph and Ellen Marie Davison Van Uytven.

He was a cook and dishwasher at the Rosebud Café in Pana.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Robert Van Uytven and Jason Van Uytven, both of Ramsey, and Chase Van Uytven of Ramsey; sister, Willow Ann Van Uytven of Oconee; and grandparents, John and Donna Van Uytven of Oconee.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ellen Van Uytven, on Feb. 20, 2003; and his grandparents.
