Ramon C. Rickher, 80, of Springfield and formerly of Fillmore, died at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetry in Fillmore, with military rites accorded after the service. Visitation will be held one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Hospice Unit at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Mr. Rickher was born on Dec. 21, 1928, in Fayette County, the son of Carl J. and Ruby Mae Carter Rickher. He married Josephine E. Holzknecht on Dec. 30, 1952, in Hillsboro.
He was a retired printer for Horace-Mann, a member of the Disabled American Veterans chapter in Springfield and an Army veteran, serving during the Korean War, 1951-53.
He is survived by his wife; son, Mark Rickher and his wife Lisa of Matthews, N.C.; daughters, Marlene Rickher of Springfield, Monica and her husband Russell Harden of Auburn, and Mary Ann and her husband Jeff Valkenbury of Marengo; granddaughters, Madlyn, Kaitlyn, Naomi, Adrienne, Amanda, Allison, Ashley and Sarah; and great-granddaughter, Rachel.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
