Alice B. Torbeck, 83, of St. Peter, died at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Friendship Manor in St. Elmo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Shobonier, with the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held form 12:30 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Bethesda Lutheran Home or Shriners’ Hospitals for Children.
Mrs. Torbeck was born on April 22, 1925, in Fayette County, the daughter of Arthur and Alma Meseke Lange. She married Clarence Torbeck on Feb. 20, 1944, at Augsburg.
She was a farmer and housewife, and a member of Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; son, Keith Torbeck and his wife Diane of Vandalia; daughter, Roxie Higgins of Villa Hills, Ky.; sister, Arlene and her husband Kenneth England of Pekin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Verna Riedle and Norma Schaal.
