Michael Dwight “Mike” Summers, 61, of Brownstown, died at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation was held an hour before services on Tuesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Memorials: Fayette County Health Department Hospice.
Mr. Summers was born on Nov. 18, 1947, in Vandalia, the son of Thomas and Pauline Cripe Kidd Summers.
He was a truck driver.
He is survived by his mother; son, Eric Summers of Brownstown; sister, Lisa and her husband John Jackson of Vandalia; and granddaughter, Baylee Summers.
He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Clarence and Kenneth Summers; sisters, Margaret McIntosh, Wanita Johnson, Katherine Leidner and Rebert Meyer.
